22 May 2009Some random dystopian scene. I was trying out the Colors homebrew software for DS. I gotta say it’s actually very cool, you can make some very decent quick concept art with it. Only one thing really disturbs me, there’s no undo! This sucks because sometimes I might accidentally touch the opposite corner with my other hand and it draws a long line which cannot be undone without tedious overpainting.

I tried different technique than usually. I first painted grayscale picture with all the shadings and stuff. Then I made an overlay layer and painted the colours. This has several advantages, you only need two layers for whole pic, because it’s easier to fix mistakes when needing only one colour.. though technically not a colour but still. And also it’s easier to colour because you don’t need to stress about shadings anymore, and making variations and even changin the colours totally is much easier. But this takes more time, unless it’s just my lack of experience.. might be..

Post-Apocalyptic Oulu
30 December 2008I’m sorry I haven’t updated for a while, frankly I haven’t been drawing either. Since I woke up today, I’ve been working some pre-assigments for the company I’m applying for as a graphical designer. For yesterday I have a lame excuse of getting hooked in Perfect World International MMO, and The Case of Charles Dexter Ward by H. P. Lovecraft. :D
Anyways I’ll put this recently painted Post-apocalyptic pic here too.
