20 February 2009I’ve been grabbing my morning coffee in Ylikiiminki’s only gas station café this past week. It’s just funny how there are always those same people sitting there, at least some of them, and they know everyone there. When you visit there daily it really makes you feel that everyone in this village of 3000 people know each other. There is this warm atmosphere, even though their stories are quite… hm.. hillbilly and stupid :D
I still prefer coffee shops in Rotuaari :P

Sword WIP
26 January 2009Work in process
Almost ready. Only UV-textures and some small thingies left.
Update:
encountered some difficulties with textures.. somehow the Blender happens to crash whenever I import a texture with a resolution of over 1200×1200. Anyhows.. blade is finished and only thing left is the guard. I quickly added this neat background photo. Supposed to be sunset but looks more like fire when I accidentally rendered it heavily squeezed.. think I leave it like this :D

27 November 2008Yesterday evening this sentence, “Metallinen käsi joka meidän kehtoa keinuttaa” (The metallic hand which cradles us) stuck on my head. I have no idea where it came from, might be from some lyrics (kinda sounds a little CMX-ish) but I’m not sure. Weird. You know, my memory is terrible, and I mean REALLY horrible. It’s like I had a premature dementia or something. Whenever I watch a movie, listen to a song, or read a book, in few days I can’t remember anything about it. I remember some 20% or so… and the feeling and impression it gave.

23 November 2008On Friday afternoon, when I had some hours of time to kill, I headed to this corner café, Kulma, grabbed a cappucino, sat by the window and decided to draw people waiting for traffic lights. No backgrounds, not in scale, or anything special, just people standing and waiting. Wanted to examine more closely how people look in certain situations, and I think I should do more of these when I’m out in town again. It’s also nice way to train speed drawing as there are only few seconds time before the lights change and the model’s gone.
