I sketched a background music today.. melancholic doom metal something… have to program drums still.
About 1/10 of the backgrounds ready now. I guess you should be able to see the setting of the “story” from this piece. It’s one helluva gif so this might be my last update until it’s ready. It seems this wordpress doesn’t support .swf.

I’m doing a little animation work so I don’t have time to make any additional sketches. Instead I might upload these progress pics. Now I have the character mostly animated, without the ending scene though. I think I got the walking quite correct.. being my second try ever.
I’m sorry I haven’t updated for a while, frankly I haven’t been drawing either. Since I woke up today, I’ve been working some pre-assigments for the company I’m applying for as a graphical designer. For yesterday I have a lame excuse of getting hooked in Perfect World International MMO, and The Case of Charles Dexter Ward by H. P. Lovecraft. :D
Anyways I’ll put this recently painted Post-apocalyptic pic here too.
From little misunderstanding with my friend yesterday, I got this idea of actually drawing me in 2070’s. I should do a little more in depth visualization of future some day, for the very reason that it is a _difficult_ subject. This picture has many inaccuraties. This should be a shoreline of Oulu marketplace Torinranta and the theater but I guess the water level would be alot higher by then, because of the climate change. Also I doubt that you’re able to buy this thick tablet PCs anymore, even now MBAir is thinner.. but maybe I’ll just that it for nostalgy reasons. Technology is even more difficult to predict since the singularity might be approaching any time now.. and the rise of the machines of course :D
Me? I’d still grow a long hair and listen to CMX, why the hell not?

This morning I killed time in Café Saara in Kirkkokatu, Oulu. It’s right next to the city hall, and I recommend it for everyone. I’ve got to say they make the most excellent coffee and Reindeer Croissant was delicious too. This view wasn’t too good but all the seats with clear vision to city hall where taken. Shame, I’d have liked to draw it but some another time then.
No vanishing points whatsoever, I tried to draw looking at the paper as little as possible, so perspective is quite off.

Theme:No Time. This is based on photography of Oulu from 1920’s. But I’m fairly sure this is exactly how it looked like in 1939 too. None of these buildings exist anymore, though the second block from left looks very similar. There’s Marimekko boutique there nowadays if I remember right. It’s a terrible shame they wrecked the beautiful Kansallis-Osake-Pankki-building. The one with the tower. :(

No time
I decided to draw how it would look like if there was a huge office building in the middle of the Oulu centrum. Like Technopolis. Then I thought it would be cool to have the existing shopping mall in downstairs. Stockmann, Vima, Akateeminen Kirjakauppa and whatever there are.. And this cool restaurant with a balcony.
