I tried a technique I’ve never heard about before, though there’s no doubt someone has already done this. I drew only the outlines of highlights, looks a little like some filter in Photoshop. When you’re drawing only highlights you get totally another perspective in shading overall, you start looking at different things you’d usually do. It was interesting experiment.

Yesterday evening this sentence, “Metallinen käsi joka meidän kehtoa keinuttaa” (The metallic hand which cradles us) stuck on my head. I have no idea where it came from, might be from some lyrics (kinda sounds a little CMX-ish) but I’m not sure. Weird. You know, my memory is terrible, and I mean REALLY horrible. It’s like I had a premature dementia or something. Whenever I watch a movie, listen to a song, or read a book, in few days I can’t remember anything about it. I remember some 20% or so… and the feeling and impression it gave.

I installed Linux Mint yesterday. I’s pure awesomeness. It’s so fast, smooth, has some spectacular visual effects with compiz, and still uses only 25% of the RAM and CPU that Vista needs. Just watched 20 720p videos simultaneously while rolling the desktop around as a cube, didn’t lag at all. Something Vista couldn’t do with my 756 megabytes of RAM :D

This sketch was request by Hanna. I was supposed to draw.. half-human half-machine thingie playing synth. The human part turned out be just brains, hope she doesn’t mind..  :D

I changed the theme for the blog. The previous one – altought it was cool – had these ugly borders in image-links. Like that RSS-logo in the menu.

On Friday afternoon, when I had some hours of time to kill, I headed to this corner café, Kulma, grabbed a cappucino, sat by the window and decided to draw people waiting for traffic lights. No backgrounds, not in scale, or anything special, just people standing and waiting. Wanted to examine more closely how people look in certain situations, and I think I should do more of these when I’m out in town again. It’s also nice way to train speed drawing as there are only few seconds time before the lights change and the model’s gone.

Damn I’m 3 pics late. On Thursday I was away the whole day, it was YUP’s concert. On Friday I was just generally spending time with good company and it was 20:00 or so when I got on computer. I admit, that was lazyness.. not uploading anything when I still sat by computer for couple of hours anyways.
